How do you define successful living? A Real Estate Millionaire may define success as having everything they want and need. Some may say, “I went to college, got my MBA, now own a jet; so, I am successful.”
The Digital Strategist might say, “I am running a profitable online business, possess a huge email list, and finally launched a six-figure course. Therefore, I am successful”.
You, however, would probably say,” I’ve got a house and a car, and I’m not poor so I’m successful”. For a long while, I based my being successful in accordance with how many apartment complexes I could acquire, the value of my emergency fund and the ability to travel.
Yeah, I had my trust and confidence buried deep in the things of the world, which could easily be taken away.

What is Success?
While most of the answers above might be correct, I would like to define success as setting a goal for yourself, working towards that goal and finally achieving your set goal.
Particularly, “success is really nothing more than the progressive realization of a God-inspired idea.” Do you recognize your divine assignment and the steps to complete that assignment?
Hence, using the criterion above, any person with a goal towards which they are working is living successfully or regarded as a successful person.
Every day we wake up and go through the journey of life setting goals for ourselves. We set a goal to start the day early. Another goal may be set to finally launch a profitable blog. Perhaps you also set a daily fitness goal to work out for twenty minutes to improve your health.
Unfortunately, most of us fail to accomplish our goals despite our sincere desires. We mostly fail to achieve these goals not because we do not want to, but because we lack a key strategy required in being successful, which is consistency.
Consistency is one pathway to successful living. You should read that again, “consistency is one pathway to successful living.” Let me go ahead and explain what I mean by this.
What is Consistency?
Consistency is the act of being consistent. It is the performing of an action or activity continuously and regularly for a long period. Consistency is very important when applied to our daily lives.
“… it is believed that it takes 30-days of consistently doing
something to form a habit.”~ Matt Morris, CPCC, Positive Thinking
Success doesn’t just happen in an hour or a day; neither does it happen in a week, it happens when you do those things that lead to success consistently every day for a long period.
What Does It Mean to Have Consistency?
Let’s take a look at our daily living to demonstrate the benefit of being consistent.
Let’s say you went to the gym right now, crunched out a rigorous thirty-minute routine then returned home to look in the mirror. Sorry, but you’d see nothing.
If you headed back to the gym the following day and repeated the routine, you still wouldn’t see anything.
Feeling discouraged, you’ve now stopped going to the gym. You’ve been sabotaged by your thoughts – “I’m not sure this is working” – but continue to look in the mirror weeks later. Now, you have probably added a few pounds because you stopped working out.
Rather, you chose to consistently eat unhealthy foods and snacks that only added to your weight. This is the improper use of consistency as a strategy.
If you had continued your daily gym schedule consistently for one month, you would surely notice a difference when you looked into the mirror. You would be proud of the transformation when your friends occasionally stop you to ask, “Hey, are you working out?”
That’s the power of consistency.
So many of us do not lead successful lives because we are inconsistent. We don’t leverage the power of discipline. We are slothful regarding our job responsibilities and matters at home. Therefore, we end up failing in so many aspects of our lives.
Jeff Bezos the CEO of Amazon once said: “Consistent hard work leads to success.”
Jim Rohn, my late mentor, and a well renowned motivational speaker said: “Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day.”
Perhaps, you have set a blogging goal to make $5,000 in six months and continued to work consistently towards that goal. You would have much greater progress by your fourth month than when you may have thrown in the towel.
Blogging Successfully
So, you want to start a profitable blog?
Maybe live the laptop lifestyle and create more margin for your family?
Well, blogging is not always the laptop lifestyle shown on Instagram. While you can earn a ton of money blogging, it is far from being an overnight success.
To become a successful blogger, you must regard blogging as a long-term investment. You find a niche and write passionately about what you love. You must provide value, focus on marketing, and show up consistently via quality blog articles.
To effectively monetize your blog, you then learn how to create products, launch a membership site, create an online course and so much more.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase ‘success leaves clues.’ So, check out this article to learn about the seven habits, which are employed by the most successful bloggers.
The Keys to Successful Living
When I was much younger (high school graduate), it was easy to just sit idly back and let time slip through my fingers.
I surely had not yet understood the purpose of man. I was guilty for not having established a reputation for making a decision neither developed a sense of urgency.
Certainly, I had not imagined the world we are living in 2020. We were all caught by surprise owing to COVID-19. I am not along in thinking that the world is not going to be the same. Many of us have had to switch to remote work or simply forced to stay home.
However, to be honest, this new normal we are living right now isn’t really having much of an impact on me (mentally).
I’m doing my best to serve my community as a Christian Blogger.
I focus on the beauty of the matter and current circumstances. Particularly, what I still have or can still do. I continue to focus on the good things that have ensued from all of this.
- Spending more quality time together with family
- Observing parents, teachers, entrepreneurs and bloggers dig deep into their creative sides
- Witnessing the best of people in the darkest of times
Therefore, what you picture as successful living today may bear little resemblance to successful living as you may define in the upcoming months.
Nonetheless, I always try to employ the use of three keys in my approach to daily living and personal aspirations:
- Do It Right the First Time
- Pay Attention to Details
- Complete It with Excellence
These keys used consistently will lead to success. They are some of keys that have unlocked many doors to the success of so many noteworthy persons in society.
If you consistently work with diligence, make good decisions, and take massive action, success will not elude you!
Recognizing Your Divine Assignment
Good friend, I do care a lot about you and could not end this article without revealing the single most important strategy to successful living. Here it is, borrowed from the wisdom captured in Matthew 6:33 –
Build Your Life Around Your Divine Assignment
Ricardo Newbold
God has already placed a specific assignment in your life that only you can accomplish with His guidance. Your job is to discover that assignment, complete it with God’s help, and be a blessing globally to the Body of Christ.
Your assignment or plans can be found in studying the Word of God. (NKJV) Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
God’s thoughts and plans for your life are for good and not evil. They are to prosper you! God’s assignment for you will not fail when you do it His way. Continue to seek Him and He will reveal it to you.
In Summary
So, go ahead and finally make a decision to be successful. Add a little bit of discipline, every day. Be intentional about making the right choices consistently even though sometimes it can be hard.
Build your life around your divine assignment. I assure you; the sky is only the beginning of what you can achieve.
Level up successful living with consistency. Make this a daily practice and I will be sure to meet you at the top!
