One: Define Your Goals

One way to manage your time is to define your goals, make them as clear as possible to you. Break them down into long term and short-term goals and build your schedule around them. This will help you to program how you spend your time. The long-term goals usually take more time and the short-term goals take a shorter time to accomplish. This will also help you track your progress through time.

Two: Focus on Important Tasks

There are tasks, and then there are important tasks. You should map out and define the important tasks and dedicate more time and attention to them and try not to waste your time and attention on things that are of little or no importance. Important tasks vary with the deadline, clients, and costs.

Three: List Down Your Tasks

This is one way to prioritize your work and manage your time, writing down your tasks in a To-Do list. Writing down your tasks in a To-Do list helps you to prioritize your work easier and more effectively. Your To-Do list can span from hours to days and even weeks. It can have different columns spanning from the heavier tasks to the lighter tasks, and also their due dates spanning from the farthest to the nearest. It also gives you a broader and clearer picture of your tasks.

Four: Avoid Procrastination

Procrastination is the act of pushing something that can be done now to a later time for no good reason. Procrastination, as they say, is the mother of failure, and the more you procrastinate the lesser your productivity will become. You’ll hardly get anything done if you procrastinate. Your work should be your top priority above all others. Moving it up over and over again will be bad for your business, so stop procrastinating and get to work.

Some people consider multi-tasking a good skill, but performing or attending to more than one task at a time affects your productivity.
